"The last days of May" was created from remembrances of childhood, walking the little lanes of the languid neighbourhood of Mumbai where I grew up. It captures the dazzling colours of gulmohars, yellow copper pods, Flame of the forest, and coral trees against a backdrop of gathering storm clouds—evoking the torpor of May before the stillness is shattered by the tumult of the monsoon.
