The title of "Happiness is the path" is inspired by the saying, "There is no path to happiness, happiness is the path." The three boys are getsuls, novice monks of Indo-Tibetan Buddhism practiced in the Himalayan region. While entering a monastery involves vows of contemplation, meditation, and simplicity, this piece captures them laughing and carefree—highlighting a beautiful joy in contrast to the ascetic life they lead.
